How To Make The Perfect French Press

How to Make the Perfect French Press

There are so many reasons to love French press coffee. It’s strong, smooth and creamy. A perfect decadent and sophisticated drink for any morning. Some may think that the French press is a time consuming process, but it actually doesn’t take more than 5 minutes to prepare. We’re going to show you how to brew the perfect cup. It’s a simple method: just add 1/2 cup of coarsely ground coffee. Add enough hot water to fill to the ridge of the French press. Pouring the water over the grinds in a circular motion will agitate them and cause a delicious foam like consistency. The cream will often rise to the top and it’s best to stir once initially and then let the French press sit for 3-5 minutes. If you’re a latte or cappuccino drinker who loves a creamy coffee, the foam from a French press is a great alternative to make at home. Once the coffee has steeped, stir one to two times mixing the creamy grinds with the home water. Once the two are combined, it is ready to serve. Another tip if you like iced coffee… don’t push the filter down on your French press. Instead wait till your French press has cooled down and place it to set in the fridge. After 24 hours of steeping in the fridge, you will have delicious cold brew

What You’ll Need!

1/2 cup coarsely ground coffee (for 34oz French press), but you can add more or less to taste.

Hot, but not boiling water – you want to aim for around 205 degrees F. You want to fill your French press so it’s around 75% full.

This will make about 4 8oz servings.
